I was called to remove a bald faced hornet nest right by the families front door. It was in a shrub and impossible to get out. So I used the soapy water technique and was able to remove the majority of them before I cut away the nest. As most on this list know, the same method works on yellow jackets (and bees). I have many wasp and hornet nests around my yard and welcome them. Keep the other pests that bother my vegetable garden in check. I have yet to be stung by any of them but have been by both my bees and yellow jackets.
