Pamela Excellent response to the critique. The one thing that I thought of, that you did too, was that mothers with regular employment already have child care and pumping in place, but a SAH mom has to handle jury duty as an emergency. There is no time to acquaint the child with the care provider or to stockpile milk. Also jury duty is unpredictable as to the length of time the mother would serve. I was told I had to report to jury duty in Louisiana when my dtr was an infant. I had no one to leave her with (my husband works off shore) and so I reported with her, was told I could get in some sort of legal trouble for this, but luckily the case was settled w/o coming to trial. I was in a real panic. I think your bill is a good one. good luck. Laurie Wheeler, IBCLC, MN, RN New Orleans Louisiana, s.e.
