Dear Mandi, I was part of the team that organised the ABA TV ad campaign "Get ahead in life - Suck up to the Boss" (thanks INFACT Canada!) http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/mediareleases/breast01.mpgI firmly believe that we will only get people to accept breastfeeding by having them *see* it, so it is routine and familiar. It was an interesting learning curve. We certainly did have our critics of the ad, but far, far more positive responses. It was initially given a PG "Parental Guidance" rating, but after we alerted the media, the decision was quickly change to "G" (General) The media, politicians and society in general was supportive of the ad and scornful of the decision of the ratings agency. (who ended up apolgising profusely for their lapse of good judgement) The Australian Breastfeeding Association have many fabulous breastfeeding posters, and a great breastfeeding calendar, and all are generally well received, and we sell 100's every year.
