Well, did the people authorize the space or not? If so, why does what these ignoramuses think matter? Why didn't your boss jump up and scream about sexual harassment, even risk managers who aren't very bright can be up against the wall with this obvious attack on a minority (women/mothers). Looked at from another angle, this might be just what you need to get concessions from management for your program. Press your advantage wherever you might find it. Don't waste breath attempting to teach people who don't have any more sense than this, they aren't teachable. Just sweep them out of the way while performing your job. (Hopefully, the sexual harassment charge will at least stitch their lips together.) None of us can afford to tolerate bigotry like this. When it happens, consider it an advantage, because no corporation is interested in being in the news over sexual harassment and mistreatment of pregnant/postpartum employees. Go for it!
