Hi all! I am usually a lurker and am back to Lactnet after many weeks of hard drive problems. Just thought I'd comment on the teen boys subject. I have 4 kids: 21 and soon to be 19 year old daughters and 16 and 14 year old sons. For several years I have kept two breastfeeding postcards on my refrigerator. One is a postcard I think I picked up at the ILCA conference in Washington, D.C. that says "Fast, free food for babies" and shows mom and baby nursing. Another is a breastfeeding picture given to me by our Medela rep. At first, my boys would ask me to take the postcards off the refrigerator when their friends were coming over ( I told them it was my job to educate their friends). Then they just began to place magnets over the breasts, and now they don't even think about it. Many, many boys come through our kitchen; sometimes they stop and look, sometimes they ask why they're there, but most of the time they no longer give it a second thought! Just my way to teach boys (and girls, and adult friends as well!) what breasts are for!
