David Rothstein wrote of Maria Stader: >However I do have the Bruckner Mass#3 with her (Jochum) and she is >stupendous, soaring above the orchestra, especially in the Kyrie. She was something of a house performer for DG back in the 60s, and I second David's opinion. Two others that come to mind are Mozart's Coronation Mass, a wonderfully vibrant but very non-HIP performance conducted by Igor Markevitch, and Il Seraglio, conducted by Ferenc Fricsay and featuring another of DG's house singers, Rita Streich.
