I recommend that all adoptive moms who need to supplement routinely add acidophilus/bifidus to the supplement. I had great results with it with my kids and found it was helpful for avoiding GI problems, as well as thrush. It has a soothing effect on mucosa, in general, so I would not be surprized if it would help with secondary lactase deficiency, by helping eliminate the inflammation. One good formulation is Primadophilus for Children. It is a powder that dissolves completely, and only a tiny bit is required, so there would be many options for giving it to the baby, like mixed with a little water or EBM in a spoon or eye dropper, putting a little powder on the end of a parent's finger, etc.. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
