I have a real head-scratcher.

I spoke to a mom today who has had an unexplained fever for 5 weeks, since her baby was about 3 weeks old. It runs @ 101during the day and up to 104 at night. She was exclusively pumping and bottle feeding EBM from the beginning basically (baby had lots of latch difficulties and she chose this route rather than seeing an LC) but found that as the fever went on, her supply decreased to almost nothing. She's has been worked up and down by lots of doctors, had a ultrasound by an ob/gyn and lots of blood tests, including for malaria because she was in Puerto Rico this summer! Next she's having an echocardiogram to check for an infection near her heart. She suspects the fever is related to the birth and/or breastfeeding but doesn't know how. Does anyone have experience with this situation? Any thoughts?

WarmLLLy,
