>I have been talking with the ACS (American Cancer Society) about letting the >public know the health benefits of breastfeeding related to breast cancer and >ovarian cancer. >So, here is what I am asking this group. If everyone were to contact their >local cancer society and ask them to discuss with you the benefits of >breastfeeding and breast cancer (and be persistent) then we could work on >them to pressure the national level to look more at the research. >In other countries, I am not aware if there are national societies for cancer >but if there is to do the same. I think this is a great idea and should be a co-ordinated effort. Has anyone besides Ann sent anything off to their local breast cancer and cancer groups? I would be happy to collect copies of materials that are sent off and share them around so we don't duplicate efforts too much. Is there a bibliography of referneces on this issue someone could post and/or send me so we don't all have to create one? Similar efforts could be initiated for osteoporosis, juvenile diabetes etc. It will benefit the bf movement, the cancer/osteoporosis/ diabetes etc movements and of course the people who stand to benefit from bf in these ways.
