We looked into several programs before we took over the hospital pump rentals. We found that Pumptrak was simple, but had one big shortcoming. There was no way to keep records for statistics. Once a pump was returned, the info about that rental was dropped. Even though it was more expensive, we went with TLC (The Lactation Consultant). It not only keeps current records and past statistics, but we use it for our consult documentation and for sending reports to other HCPs. There are a number of "lists" - actions taken, problems, and strategies for dealing with those problems that we found both confusing and lacking in some basic info and approaches. HOWEVER, all of these can be modified, added to, reworded and in some cases eliminated. The more we work with it, the better it fits our needs. I know that some have been disappointed with it, feeling it didn't meet their needs, and I felt that way at first, but after working on updating the lists, we are quite happy with it. I just wish the company that makes it would arrange for updates. The only other shortcoming is that it doesn't (or we haven't found a way to) link to other programs. In other words, you have to mail or fax a hard copy of the report to the doc - there isn't any way to attach it to an e-mail. If anyone else using it has found a way to do so, please pass it on. PS, I have no financial interest in this product Winnie *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
