Elaine, Several different problems may cause unusual friability of the skin. Yeast overgrowth (candidiasis) is probably the most common one. Is this unusual skin delicacy confined to the nipples, or is other body skin affected too? If it is confined to the nipples, then an infectious or mechanical process is probably to blame. If her skin is prone to breakage elsewhere, she might have a connective tissue disorder. -- Catherine Watson Genna, IBCLC New York City mailto:[log in to unmask] *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
