For the sake of brevity I obviously snipped too much of the post I was forwarding. This was not a personal question but one I was passing on in hopes of receiving some ideas. Hi Gitte, I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Nancy C from the August 98 list way back when. I just started lurking on XXXX, can't decide if I have the energy to join in, but I noticed the post about iron. I have another daughter now, Frances, who is almost 14 months, and we just had some bloodwork done on her because she had a mystery illness, and the unexpected tidbit of info that came back was that her hemoglobin was at 10.2. She's primarily breastfed still--I'd say she's getting about 90% of her nutrition from breastmilk still, not terribly interestedin solid food, and what she eats--and she's relatively picky--is not extremely iron-rich. The issue for us is also that we have a lot of lead based paint in our house. We're getting ready to do some abatement, starting in about 2 weeks, but Frances also has slightly elevated blood lead levels, and I know that iron deficiency anemia and lead poisoning can go hand in hand, and low iron can increase the risks of lead poisoning. Anyway, my question is, what do you think about giving Floradix to a 17 pound baby? And how much would I give each day? *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
