Todd asks about strains of bees storing pollen under honey. Frankly, I thought all Apis Mellifera did so. I understood that the honey acted as a anti-bacteria agent, protecting the pollen. Being full of protein, bacteria just love the stuff. Pollen stored under honey can be hard to see (until one knows what to look for). Hold a frame up the light, and it is readily visible.
