I am so far behind that I haven't yet read the post that led to this post, but it is definitely okay - I am more than happy to talk to any employed mothers who are trying to figure out how to make breastfeeding work after returning to employment. I should state a similar caveat as Liz did with respect to her ability to provide legal advice outside of Florida, I am only licensed to practice law in California. Therefore, if a mom wants to litigate an employment case in another state, I almost always suggest that she find legal counsel in her state. Having said that, I want to reiterate another thing that Liz may have mentioned and if she didn't this time, then she has in the past - litigation is really the last resort option. An employee should do everything in her power to show her employer why it is economically better for the employer for the mom to continue breastfeeding - in most cases, if the mom is speaking to the right person in the organization (and this is SO key), the issue will not be raised to a level where litigation is necessary. The key for the mom in many cases is to speak to the right person in the company and this is something that as an advisor it is important to help the mom explore. Warmly, Alexis >From: "Elizabeth N.
