Hi Tricia,
I think I would like to get a pre and post feed weight and observe
the feeding for swallowing. The question in my mind is: Is there milk
transfer happening and how much?
The large yellow seedy stool is very positive. I have not heard
of colace affecting a baby and seems unlikely. Maybe the mom can switch
to bran, high fiber foods.
If a mom pumps 1 or 2 oz. after a feeding I usually feel that is an
acceptable quantity. This mom may want to finger feed some pumped milk a
couple of times a day.
Some babies who are very sleepy at the breast 'tune out' because
milk transfer hasn't been working for them.
Good luck, keep us posted. I hope the mom doesn't get too
discouraged. It is a problem to get conflicting advice.
