I have been on Lactnet since returning from my weeklong class given by Jan Barger, et al. I had been working with nursing moms and babies for years, but never in this formal a capacity. My peds group decided to add on LC to their practice and decided that I was the nurse to do it so they sent me for the formal training and testing. Well, I would have been lost without the information that I have been learning here. I have had a most overwhelming 24 hours and Lactnet has given me the tools to keep going. I have had the mom with ductile candiasis, a mom with inadequate breast tissue on one side, a BFAR mom who is struggling because the baby is also tongue tied. Add to that the baby last week who is producing milk and had a plugged duct, and you have a most amazing professional journey. I have been hitting my head on some walls with physicians, some mom's who give up just in sight of the promised land, and of course the little peeps who just don't get it yet. But my contacts with all of you had aided us so much. The smiles of grateful moms and the sight of happy nurslings is such a reward. Thanks so much for being here for all of us.
