Sorry, I left out a detail in my haste to post from work. We saw baby on Saturday and dx'd thrush, gave her info on OTC that we could, signs to watch for. She SAW her OB on Monday who dx'd ductile candiasis, but wouldn't give her script for Diflucan because she is nursing. Mom calls me and I faxed the OB the pertinent pages from Medications and Mothers Milk. That is when he dug in his heels and declared mom's nursing breasts as our territory because they are the baby's food source and the baby is the one with thrush. I guess in his view, he could treat the mastitis she had before because the baby didn't have it. His reasoning still floors me.
