Does clipping a frennulum hurt?

I agree with Dr. Kathy Leeper.  I have witnessed several clippings (I was
taught by my co-worker Kittie Frantz) and have done several myself and have
observed neither increased crying at the moment of cutting or in the moments
thereafter (of course  they cry when they are held down and thierr tongues
are immobilized with gauze covered fingers).  Usually, right after the
proceedure, the baby goes happily right on the breast and just sucks away.
