The Department of Archaeology and Landscapes at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest has two immediate openings for temporary field technicians. Staff will work a 37.5 hour week. Housing and per diem are not provided, but the position does include benefits that can be applied towards health insurance, disability insurance or a tax-deferred annuity.
Field work will include plantation survey and recovery of evidence of Jefferson’s ornamental and plantation landscapes. Candidates should have earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or a related discipline with training in historical archaeology.
