Just heard a bit on the news about a medical practice in
Seattle that has just instituted a policy of charging drug
company reps $30/hour just to get in the door of the practice,
with no guarantee of seeing a doctor. They say it will help
to defray the costs of seeing these reps. On a slow day there
are about 15 drug company reps trying to sell their wares in
this practice. Combined with hospitals and state legislatures
forbidding formula distribution this could have an impact on
the way drug companies (including formula companies) do business.
Does anyone know any more about this, or if there are other
practices and facilities instituting similar policies?
