I recall a request for a date on when the "Federal Law Forbids Sale or Re-Use of the Bottle" embossing came in to existence, (Jan 1935 the legislation came down mandating the use of the embossing) 1935 per Jane Busch in Second Time Around: A Look at Bottle Reuse published in Approaches to Material Culture p 113-126
