For music after 1962 I listen to Havergal Brian's Symphonies 21 -32, Malcom Arnold's Symphonies 7 and 8, I don't have the dates for Robert Simpson's but at a wild guess the later symphonies must have been written after 1962. For something a bit more modern sounding I would go for Ligeti's Piano Concerto. Whether any of these works meet your criteria I can't say but I like them. Tim Horwood
