I have permission to post this message on behalf of a member of another list that I subscribe to. I do hope someone can offer advice - I am unable to as I am in the UK and have no idea what, if any, legislation protects the rights of a breastfeeding mother in the US. "I have a friend with a newborn who is completely breastfed. My friend is attending college full-time to get her degree. She is close to finishing and does not want to stop now. Her class started yesterday and her teacher told her she could not bring her infant to class. I always understood that as long as the baby is quiet, she has the right as a breastfeeding mom to bring her. My friend is very descrete and has done this with her three other children and never had a problem. The teacher told her it is not her right and she has 3 days to submit in writing her proof. This really sucks as she is doing her best for her family and the baby. Can anyone provide websites or information that can help?" Any comments or advice are very welcome.
