Actually as a mother baby nurse who helps with circumcises all the time and I am also a lactation consultant, I see you point, but there are more studies out there than what was referenced that it does indeed work to help alleviate the pain in newborns, you don't have to dip it onto a pacifier, mom can use her finger or nurse can drip it into babies mouth with a small dropper.
