A good place to start is Toch's third symphony, in the old
Steinberg/Pittsburgh Symphony recording remastered on a budget-priced EMI
Matrix 24 CD. [It is coupled with Hindemith's Mathis der Maler (Steinberg)
and Frank Martin's Petite Symphonie Concertante by Stokowski.] I also like
Toch's Five Pieces for Winds and Percussion, Op. 83, available on a Virgin
Classics with Hindemith's wind septet and Weill's concerto for violin and
winds.
