maybe coming in a little late on this thread, sorry, but wanted to comment
on the hot showers. seems to work on many engorged moms but maybe it is the
tactile stimulation of the hitting water that elicits MER. Maybe we could
abandon hot and cold if we could find some effective tactile stim (we do use
massage) like gently beating a drum or some auditory stim or aromatherapy.
Now there's a fun research project, get lots of engorged moms and try
different sounds, smells, and drumbeat rhythms on them - could work. what
about an ultrasound treatment, one of us LCs could invent a little portable
machine, oh what about a vibrator sort of thing? I'm serious!
