The nurses at the hospital maternity center where I am LC have voted on a new uniform. The colors of the print are lovely. However, the design is of stars and moons and babies.......many of the babies have a pacifier in the mouth......and in the background like stars in the sky are baby bottles. You would have to see it to believe it. I have pointed out the problem, but no one else seems to think it is a problem since "the mothers are going to work or have some reason to give a bottle." It is so disheartening, so embarrassing. Has this come up anywhere else? Was anything done? Does Joint Commission notice things like that? Pardee H. Hinson, MPH, IBCLC Charlotte, NC So, Pardee, I've seen these scrubs and I, too, felt as you do and pointed out to the nurse (only one, thank goodness) who was wearing them. I only pointed it out to her and made brief mention about the bottle feeding society etc. etc. and asked she not wear those scrubs, please, when we had our Baby Friendly assessment. She didn't. And she went to work in ER now... keep putting it out there...Susan in So OR *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
