I think on the LLLI web page, Legal Issues part, you might be able to find
links to the specific language in the various state bills.  At least some of
them refer to breastfeeding a child (not an infant, not a newborn, not a
child under three).  At the same time, hallaluyeah that they're willing to
consider it OK to nurse until age 3, let alone in public!!!  This is way
beyond a lot of places.  You might just point them in my direction if they
need convincing that lots of perfectly normal folks nurse kids in the US way
beyond age 3.  But frankly, I settle for having to nurse the over 3 year
olds in private!  They probably want to make it not OK for adult men to suck
on women's breasts in public, and they *thought* that by saying up to age 3,
they were including all children.
