Hi Kathy, I don't think Pat was saying that, I think she was saying that
once a doctor has decided that a lump is dangerous that it needs to be
done quickly.  I believe she was responding to doctors who've already
made up their minds about the risk of the lump and say "We have to
remove it!" then they wait around until after the mom delivers.  Kind of
like "Oh, I don't like the results of this fetal biophysical profile, we
need to induce.  How's next Wednesday?"
