Hi lactnetters,
I have searched the archives for information on laser eye surgery
while nursing. The few I saw seemed to discourage laser surgery while
nursing. A mom called me and has a three month old and plans to have
surgery next week as she feels she would benefit from improved sight.

The eye dr. says she needs to pump and dump for 5 days as she will
be on the following meds: oculflox, pred-sorte fluress, tropicmide opth
sol, so she is pumping now to save milk and get used to pumping. Does any
one have recent experience with these meds. I searched Dr. Hale's site and
did not find them. The mom is definitely planning the laser surgery so I
don't think she will postpone surgery till weaning. Any one have any recent
information on laser eye surgery while breastfeeding.

Please post to me privately or on the list. TIA,

Ellen Bane Mahony, RN,MS, LCCE, IBCLC
