Well stated, Cynthia. La Leche League's philosophy

see: http://www.lalecheleague.org/philosophy.html

does not state that we should meet our children's needs all of the time.

As Cynthia pointed out, it is impossible and La Leche League Leaders well
know that.

As Cynthia mentioned, "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" and many other
books found in LLL libraries try to help mothers find ways to meet their
own needs, sleep and otherwise.

Judy's post certainly brings home the fact that all of us working with
mothers need to be conscious of how we "package" information, especially to
sleep-deprived mothers (count me as one of them) who may not be hearing our
entire message.
