In discussing what the known and theoretical dangers of soy formula with someone I have been asked some very good questions to which I do not know the answer. I'm hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

She states that in China up until the eighties, there was "no" milk and "no" milk formula for any children. And certainly not everyone had their mother's milk to sustain them. She says that they drank a lot of water soy bean milk tea and still eat so much soy bean in form of tofu every day in their diet.

So does anyone know what infants were fed in countries like China (where I guess dairy products were very rare until recently) when their mums did not breastfeed them?
