Diane, I really liked the point you made about feedings being quick and uneventful as the baby gets the hang of breastfeeding. I am definitely finding this to be true with my 2 month old singleton. Feedings are not a big deal, and I really have no idea how many times my son eats in a day, but I know he is growing and thriving and my supply is good. Even night feedings are quick and easy, and I don't mind feeding a few times in the night. With my triplets, though, feeding was a very big deal and took a good bit of time, and a schedule and long periods of babies sleeping at night was survival for my family. I am very glad to have an opportunity to nurse a singleton after nursing my precious triplets. It is a completely different experience and one newborn to manage is very different than 3. I still believe, much to the dismay of some, that schedules have their place in the world of multiples, but am finding it not to be the case at all with one baby.
