This is just one mom's anectodal evidence, but my daughter (now 16 months old) was not interested at all in solids at one year. Even now she is not that interested. We keep offering and yesterday she definitely seemed to eat more solid food than ever before, so maybe she is finally getting ready. For what it's worth she also has seemed to hit other developmental milestones a bit later than average. She was born 4 weeks early too.
