We do PP tubals all the time, it is a quick surgery requiring only one small incision at the umbilicus die to the fact that the tubs are displaced somewhat from pregnancy. The mom should be gone from the floor a MAX of 2 hours, ours are usually gone only an hour to 90 minutes. Have mom feed baby right before she goes and baby should be ok till she gets back. We rarely have to feed baby while mom a gone if she feeds the baby right before she leaves, usually the dad holds the baby while mom is gone, this occupies him from worrying so much about his wife and keeps the baby calm too. IF we have to give the baby something, we syringe a few cc's of water to baby.
