Alison Bowcott asks about the "audition" piece played on the violin in the film "In the Good Old Summertime". My usual source for information about films (www.imdb.com) lists George C. Stoll as Musical Director and as Original Music (uncredited). Robert Alton was Director of Musical Sequences. Nothing else about the music, sorry to report. A more detailed review (http://www.zianet.com/jjohnson/sumtime.htm) gives a more complete "Musical Program", but lists only vocal numbers (other than an orchestral piece "Chicago").
