Could he be referring to Elena Nikolaidi (with an "e") who taught voice
at Florida State University in Tallahassee? I remember hearing her in Aida
years ago.  She also did some Rachmaninoff since I have a poster from a
local Rachmaninoff concert held here in Tallahassee about 30+ years ago.
She is listed in the new phone book, so I assume she is still with us.

I believe that she is Greek, and was also billed as Nikolai at some point.
