A mom called me this evening with the concern that her drinking water had been tested and was exceptionally high in manganese according to the tester at 5.7; supposed to be 0.5 . Mom is concerned having consumed this water for the past three months while breastfeeding her baby (3 mos old). I find only what is usual amt found in breastmilk which is 0.6-+ and do not know how manganese is metabolized and what effect, if any, too high an amount ingested by mom would have on her nursling. Anyone have information? She asked me to post and is a bit anxious so if anyone has knowledge re this a reply would be appreciated. Thank you!
