Hi all... am well behind postings... interesting to follow the cereal vs meat weaning foods - i have found IMO that tho cereal is less nutritious, babies seem to prefer it at the 6-8 mo stage - mixed with breast milk it is familiar to them - meat seems a foreign taste! Commercially made baby food which include meats taste horrible - almost rancid, even allowing for an adult palate. I've found my own boys love finger food meat eg a chicken drum stick or long chunk of beef, but to get them to eat meat finely chopped is harder until 12mo or older. another topic - a niece is working in the US at present, and as we have no breastfeeding promotion-type mechandise I've asked her to get a t-shirt or buttons etc for me as she returns in December. Where should she look (other than web sites?) Thanks Fiona Hermann midwife....IBCLC - yep, I passed too!
