I did not catch the first question on alcohol. But I would say it is absolutely unnecessary to stop after drinking alcohol. I agree with Elisheva. It is a reflection of our puritanical society that everyone gets so uptight about alcohol. If the mother is at the legal limit, say 0.08% in her blood, her milk will contain 0.08%. That's nothing. And I wouldn't stop for one second. Let the mothers have their drink. Breastfeeding is already seen as too restricting. You can't have a drink, you can't go out, you can't eat what you want, you can't have a cigarette, you can't have sex, you can't have a joint. Let not lactation specialists also be part of the process that convinces mothers that breastfeeding is just too restricting.
