I don't exactly dislike F-D's Winterreise, but for me his style tends toward the mannered, as if he's carefully thought over how he should sing every word. Certainly he has a beautiful and expressive voice, but I tend to prefer singers who make Schubert sound more spontaneous. Peter Goldstein
