The Ameda/Hollister pumps use a different way of vacuum management. In these
pumps vacuum is increased by enlarging the volume of the container and
breastshield. This system is used on both manual and electric pumps. There
really can be no air nor fluid contact between the motor and the
container/shield. So I think there is very little to no chance of contamination
of the motor and/or mechanical parts.
