When my son was in kindergarten he was evaluated by the educational psychology division of the education system here, following his teacher's recommendation of his readiness to enter first grade before his 6th birthday. They actually *did* ask, very specifically, how long he was breastfed and at what age he was weaned. The psychologist did not seem the least bit surprised that he was breastfed well into his third year. I suppose these psychologists learned something about the importance of breastfeeding and the correlation between breastfeeding and increased intelligence. Maybe more than what most MD's learn about breastfeeding in medical school. Yael Wyshogrod IBCLC Rechovot Israel P.S. Although Avri tested to be "ready" for first grade in all ways, I still don't reccomend starting early, but that's another story, not for lactnet. *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
