Steve Schwartz on Achim Breiling's response to Jocelyn Wang (et al.):

>>What do they expect a contemporary or 20th century composer (as I have the
>>impression they like to mix all this music together as atonal) to compose?
>
>I don't see what they could have said to give you this impression. There's
>a lot of 20th century music, much of it sounding not at all like hard-core
>dodecaphonic serialism.

If I don't remember bad, Miss Wang wrote clearly:

>Since the entire process of atonal composition is inconducive
>to producing anything resembling beauty...

She wasn't talking only about dodecaphonic serialism, but about some
unknown "ens" named "the entire process of atonal composition", which, I
suppose, must be in her opinion a sort of ugly monster of thousand heads.
Or I'm reading bad?
