Maybe I would have prefered the version without >singing. A masterpiece? Not really! Historically interesting? Maybe, yes! No I didn't know about the vocal part. I should add that last night during dinner I had a phone call from a friend. He said, "you will never believe what came out on CD. Guess!" Without trying I said, "I give up." He replied, "it is something I have on LP and it was something I NEVER thought would be released on CD and it is on BIS." With that information I knew it was the Kalnins. After taking the wind out of his sails a bit, he went on to tell me that the new recording is significantly better. He added that the tempo is far more appropriate to the rock tune, the orchestral playing is excellent and the sound is wonderful. I will give it another try in this new recording, but my main interest will be to hear the Garbage Concerto. Karl
