To this nature/nurture debate, I would like to contribute with a metaphor. To me, the relation between nature and nurture can be seen clearly in an example like the "absolute pitch". Perfect Pitch is something you are born with, still a person with Perfect Pitch doesn't inherit the tones, just the ability to remember them. Hence, this person must "record" the tones in his brain to be able to recognize them, in the future. It is like pouring water in a jar, where the water is the nurture and the jar the genetic coding; The water is needed to fill up the jar, but the water cannot take any other form than the jar allow it to.
