Lisa, what a brilliant and informative post you sent to us! I knew a woman who was a professional singer, whose voice changed with her first pregnancy. She was alarmed, but her coach encouraged her to wait and see what gift would be awarded her in her new vocal chords. Maturity of voice is one of the gifts of motherhood, her coach assured her. She did go on to continue singing, and was quite pleased with the new richness of her voice. I don't know if this woman breastfed her baby, but if pregnancy grants such a gift, just think what breastfeeding can do! Fulfilling our feminine roles doesn't cripple us, but continues to enrich us and expand our horizons. (Maybe that "expansion" is sometimes in more ways than we wish.) :) Pat Gima, IBCLC Milwaukee, Wisconsin Mailto:[log in to unmask] *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
