A new client is an artist/interior decorator who uses oil-based paints and turpentine. She did not work throughout her pregnancy and is anxious to start painting again. She is concerned about inhaling the fumes while she is breastfeeding, wondering if it will get into her blood stream and her milk. We discussed wearing protective clothing and gloves to keep it off her skin. Do you think she needs to wear a mask if she is in a well- ventilated room? She will not stop breastfeeding. There were precautionary warnings on the paint & turpentine containers, but they were not very speicific. Any tips will be helpful.
