Everyone sees the world from their point of view. The dentists see the world
with teeth in the middle. I hate to break this to them, but though teeth are
important, there are more important things in the world. Like not forcing a
toddler to stop breastfeeding. I would like to force all dentists who tell
mothers to wean a toddler to stay 24 hours at the house as the mother tries
to avoid nursing an 18 month old. We'll see who cracks first.

Here's a secret: even if the child has cavities in his primary teeth, he'll
get a second set of teeth, cavity free starting at about 6 years of age.

Just as with physicians, mothers have the right to say "thanks for your
advice. I have heard what you have to say, but I have decided to continue
breastfeeding". And if the dentist says no (what a nerve!), the mother
simply asks "Can you refer me to someone who is more understanding of human
nature and frailties?"
