I am interested in the findings that milk collected in plastic bags is the "dirtiest" as far as bacterial contamination. While the situation is a little different, this brings to mind a question I have had for some time. I have been asked many times by mothers (of non-NICU infants) if using ziplock bags were acceptable containers for freezing milk. I have never been able to find a yes or no answer. While bacterial contamination is not as much a problem in growing term infants, does anyone know if there is something about these bags that make them less than suitable for freezing milk for term infants.
